Checked Baggage

I. Definition

"Baggage" shall refer to the necessary or moderate amount of goods and other personal properties that a passenger carries for meeting his/her dressing, usage, comfort or convenience requirements during his/her journey

"Checked Baggage" shall refer to the baggage of which a passenger entrusts Shenzhen Airlines to take custody and be responsible for carriage, and that the passenger could show the baggage identification tag.

"Baggage transport segment" shall refer to the route from the site where the passenger handed over his/her baggage to the next stopover site.

II. Applicable Date

This Standard shall be applicable to the passengers who purchased the tickets with original dates of issue being after zero hour (inclusive) on November 1, 2016, and who should travel and pay over-allowance baggage fees upon zero hour (inclusive) on November 1,2016.

III. General Provisions

(I) For transportation starting from America or Canada or with the farthest stopover site in the whole voyage being in America or Canada, the baggage rules of the first marketing carrier involving America or Canada segment shall be applicable to the whole voyage.

(II) For transportation not starting from America or Canada or with the farthest stopover site in the whole voyage not being in America or Canada, according to IATA baggage rules selecting methods for connecting flights, the baggage rules of the most significant carrier of the baggage transport segment shall be applicable to the transportation of the voyage corresponding to such baggage transport segment.

(III) In view of the complexity of calculating the free checked baggage allowance with the Global Distribution System, Shenzhen Airlines as a marketing carrier takes the automatic calculation results of the system as the free baggage allowance for code-sharing flights, or the free checked baggage allowance for the transportation involving combined grade.

(IV) Maximum weight, size and limitation on the number of pieces of checked baggage

1. The overweight, oversize, over-quantity baggage should pay for over-allowance baggage fees (refer to the over-allowance charging standards for ordinary baggage below).

1) Size: weight concept: the length, width, height of each ordinary baggage shall not exceed 100 cm (40 inch), 60 cm (24 inch), 40 cm (16 inch) respectively.Piecework concept: the sum of three sides of each ordinary baggage shall not be over 158 cm (62 inch).

2)Weight: the maximum weight of each ordinary checked baggage shall not exceed 32 kg (70 pounds), otherwise, it must be divided into two piece of checked baggage

3)3) Number of pieces: the maximum number of baggage that each passenger could check= free baggage allowance of the ticket + membership rights + six pieces of extra paid baggage (including ordinary baggage and special baggage).Seven or more pieces of extra paid baggage must be transported as cargo

2.2. For the connecting transportation with the whole voyage being actually operated by Shenzhen Airlines, no matter there is any stopover or not, the free checked baggage allowance for the whole voyage should be implemented according to the free checked baggage allowance standard of the segment with higher allowance.

V. Others

(I) Passenger upgrading or downgrading cabin class involuntarily

The ordinary free checked baggage allowance of a passenger upgrading or downgrading his/her cabin service level involuntarily shall be implemented according to the service level standard of his/her original cabin class.

(II) Passenger occupying extra seat(s)

The ordinary free checked baggage allowance of a passenger occupying extra seat(s) should be determined by the cabin service level of the seat(s) occupied and the number of seats occupied.

(III) Baggage occupying extra seat(s)

The seat baggage doesn't have any ordinary free checked baggage allowance. For the baggage occupying each seat, its weight should not exceed 75 kg (165 pounds), and its three sides (length , width and height) should not exceed 100 cm (40 inch), 60 cm (24 inch), 40 cm (16 inch).

(IV) Stretcher Passengers

1. Routes adopting weight concept: the ordinary free checked baggage allowance for a passenger in need of a stretcher shall be 60 kg (132 pounds), and the length, width, height of each ordinary baggage should not exceed 100 cm (40 inch), 60 cm (24 inch), 40 cm (16 inch); the length, width, height of each baggage should not exceed 100cm, 60 cm, 40 cm;

2. For flight with piecework concept: the ordinary free checked baggage allowance for a passenger in need of a stretcher shall be 3 pieces, with each piece being no more than 23 kg (50 pounds), and the sum of three sides of each ordinary baggage shall not be over 158 cm (62 inch).

(V) Charter Transportation shall be implemented according to relevant provisions as specified in charter agreement.

VI. Over-allowance charging standards for ordinary baggage

(I) When the baggage of a passenger does not meet the free baggage policies or the weight, size or number of pieces exceeds the standards of free checked baggage allowance, the passenger must pay over-allowance baggage fees or special baggage fees. The overweight, oversize, over-quantity baggage fees must be calculated based on the departure place and destination of the passenger's checked baggage transport segment.

(II) The charging standards for over-allowance baggage fees of ordinary baggage adopted by Shenzhen shall be weight concept for domestic flights and piecework concept for international and regional flights.

1.Domestic routes

For the transportation with its whole voyage completely in China, the charging standard for overweight baggage fees of ordinary baggage should be implemented according to the relevant provisions of the Regulations on Domestic Passenger, Baggage Transportation of Civil Aviation in China (No. 49 Order of Civil Aviation Administration). The overweight baggage rate shall be calculated by 1.5% of an ordinary economy-class adult ticket price of the applicable direct flight on that day for each kilogram, and the amount should be made in RMB, with the mantissa rounding off

When charging overweight baggage fees, the overseas sales units should exchange China Yuan into local currency at the exchange rate of the charging day.

For the transportation of international and regional routes, it should be calculated according to the over-allowance (overweight, oversize, over-quantity) baggage rate of piecework concept, and the rate form is as below

1. Weight limitation: for piecework concept, the maximum weight of each ordinary checked baggage shall not exceed 32 kg (70 pounds), otherwise, it must be divided into two piece of checked baggage.

2. Size limitation: the sum of three sides (length, width, height) of each ordinary checked baggage should not exceed 203 cm (80 inch, including wheels and handle)and should no less than 60 cm (24 inch).

3. Limitation on number of pieces: the maximum number of baggage that each passenger could check = free baggage allowance of the ticket + membership rights + six pieces of extra paid baggage (including ordinary baggage and special baggage).Seven or more pieces of extra paid baggage must be transported as cargo.

When charging over-allowance baggage fees against ordinary baggage, the overseas non-dollar sales units should exchange dollar into local currency at the exchange rate of the charging day.
